Asus has hit the ball out of the park again with its new and long awaited ASUS ROG 3. This isn’t a phone at all. This is a gaming powerhouse which is great for multimedia consumption and handling everything you throw at it and can also make some calls.

What’s new with the ROG 3 ?
We have Snapdragon 865+ processor clocked at 3.1Ghz. 8/12/16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256/512 GB UFS3.1 storage.
On the display front, we have 6.59 inches 1080p AMOLED display with 144hz refresh rate and 270hz touch sampling rate with touch latency of 25MS. This thing will flyyy through your everyday tasks and even minor scrolling will be a joy. Though the display have some bezels, but they act as a hand rest while Playing games. Overall the footprints are really large.

Powering this beast, we have 6000mah battery with 30W charging support that can last you 2 days with ease. This phone doesnt support any wireless charging.
The device looks more refined from previous generation. We have a gorilla glass 3 at the back with a very small slit for heat dissipation. There’s no headphone jack sadly but you do get a 2nd USB C slot, through which you can connect your earphones and other smart accessories.

You also get 3 cameras at the back, primary 64MP IMX 686 camera, 13MP ultra wide and 5MP macro lens.
The main camera sensor is capable enough to compete with the likes of OnePlus 8, NORD and Poco F2 Pro. It wont be as good as the iPhone’s or OnePlus 8 pro but seriously, it won’t disappoint you at all.

You have 24MP selfie shooter at front along with 2 massive front firing speakers which are the loudest you can get on any smartphone right now.
Other Gaming centric features include air triggers that let you map more than 6 buttons at the right side of your phone. You get 2 triggers each at top and bottom right side and you can swipe to add 2 more. You get this X-mode which gives you peak performance consistently. You can select different modes to chose your performance levels. You can stream at 4K directly via the 2nd USB port. And let’s not forget about the glowing RGB logo at the back.

Pricing
Asus ROG 3 is available at ₹49,999 for 8/128 GB option and ₹57,999 for 12/256 GB option. They comes bundled with an Aero Case, but only the top variant comes with AeroActive Cooler 3. You get 30 Watt ROG Hypercharge Charger and a 3.5mm USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter inside the box. They will be available via Flipkart starting August 6 at 12am IST.

Verdict
The pricing is really good for indian market in particular, because it was launched at €999 in Europe and the base variant doesn’t even come with SD865+ chip but the normal SD865.
This will compete with Mi 10 and OnePlus 8 Pro at that price. And might surely not be an all-rounder but whatever it does, it does it really good.
And yes it is a bit more expensive than Rog 2 but that is due to the increased taxes, 5G support and SD865+ being a really expensive chip. But it actually performs for the price it asks for.
