Henry Cavill, the English actor best known for his role as Superman in the DCEU, Geralt in the Witcher series and most recently as Sherlock in  Enola Holmes recently told GQ, ““At this stage, it’s all up in the air. We’ll see what happens. But yes, I would love to play Bond, it would be very, very exciting.”

He has tried out for the role of James Bond back when he was 22 years old and was told as that he was a little too chubby for the role by the director, Martin Campbell. “I didn’t know how to train or diet. And I’m glad Martin said something, because I respond well to truth. It helps me get better,” says Henry at Men’s Health 2019.

Now at age 37, his chances look pretty good, alongside his competition Tom Hardy, who is also a veteran in the field. Both actors have stellar works under their belt, it’s only a matter of time that we see which one of them gets to be the next 007 for the new generation. There is no word on who will be taking up the mantle, as Daniel Craig’s No Time to Die is set to release November 2020, so maybe expect a word after the dust is settled in the final chapter of Craig’s saga.
