Let’s say that this is one of the most awaited phones of the year after the iPhones because obviously, Samsung always Nails it with the Note series. The specs of these phones are so explosive, (ahem Note 7) that you can just go for em blindly because these make no compromises on anything (even on the price).

Let’s Look at Note 20 Series

Galaxy Note 20

This Phone comes with a

• 6.7inch Full HD AMOLED display at 60hz which is flat and has a punch hole at the top.

• It includes SD865+ (Exynos 990 for Indian markets)

• 8GB LPDDR5 Ram and 128GB storage.

• You have a 12MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide, and 64MP 3x telephoto which can shoot up to 30x. It supports 5G but will most probably come with an LTE version in India. Fun fact, this phone feels more like a successor to the Note 10 lite instead of the Note 10. It has a plastic back !! And it is selling for $999, which is more than ₹85K. And if you don’t use S-Pen, don’t even think about it. Exynos 990 is bad, you won’t get 5G in India anytime soon and it has the same sensor as the S20 series, so better buy the normal S20.

Time for the Ultra Beast Now

Note 20 Ultra

Not gonna lie but this phone is the result when you throw every best thing possible in a phone (except for the folding display) and Samsung has exactly done that.

Display

Note 20 Ultra is a mammoth of a device. This comes with a 6.9 inch 120hz curved QHD+ AMOLED display and no, you still can’t use this phone at max resolution and frames at the same moment. So either 60hz + 1440p or 120hz + 1080p. You have a very small punch hole in the front now and this phone feels bezel-less. You also get Corning Gorilla glass Victus which lets your phone survive a 6ft drop and is scratch resistant. This is impressive because, after Gorilla Glass 3, this is the first time that they actually managed to improve the quality.

Performance

This phone rocks the same SD865+ chip or Exynos 990. You get 8/12 GB RAM and 128/512 GB storage options and also an SD Card slot. Though Exynos 990 is bad and no way near the SD865+ but we can hope that they managed to improve the performance.

Cameras

At the back, you have 108MP main camera + 12MP ultra-wide and 12MP Telephoto Periscope lens which can go up to 50x zoom.
There’s also the Laser autofocus that you will get only with Note 20 Ultra which fixes the issues with S20 ultra. You also get 8K recording support and audio zoom features too.

S – Pen

S-Pen was always the selling point of the Note series. Even if most people don’t use it, they still like to flaunt it because why not. This time, they have managed to reduce the touch latency A LOT. From 48Ms to 9MS. This is very much noticeable and now it feels like you’re writing on a paper. The experience is really good. You still get the gestures which you had on Note 10 series.

Software

Samsung has now promised that they will give 3 years of updates to every flagship phone after the S20 series. Also, they have this new UWB (Ultra-wideband) chip inside Note 20 Phones. What this chip does is send short-range radio waves that precisely pinpoints and measures the distance between other UWB equipped devices. This was previously seen on iPhone 11 and lets you share stuff from one phone to another via Nearby share, Google’s equivalent to Airdrop.

Samsung Dex and Microsoft

In Note 9, we had a stand for Dex, in Note 10 we had USB C and now in Note 20, it is wireless. Now you can use Dex via Miracast and use your note 20 as a PC. Also, Microsoft announced that they will be launching The Xbox game pass ultimate Bundle for the Note 20 series on September 12 which will let you play Xbox games via X-cloud for 3 months, absolutely free and you will get an Xbox Remote and a Clip to attach your phone.

Verdict

Note 20 Ultra is really Goooood and an overkill phone. A true successor to the Note line up and looks gorgeous in the new colors. This starts at $1299 (₹1Lakh + in India). So if you’re someone who is ultra-rich and wants a phone Note-worthy, you should definitely go for this!
